Support my Patreon crowdfunding: http://www.crowdfundstu.com/ Read my comics: http://www.stuartmcmillen.com/ Review of comic book series "Sin City" by Frank Miller – from Stuart McMillen’s graphic novel recommendations. Frank Miller began releasing his "Sin City" books in the early 90s, and they immediately caused quite a stir in the comics world. Right off the bat, it was the artwork of "Sin City" that leapt out at everyone. The comics have a noir look, with extreme contrast between the light and dark parts of the images. In other words, everything is either black OR white, and there is extensive use of shadows and silhouettes. Frank tries a lot of interesting effects with the ‘look’ of the comic. For example, the way that Marv’s bandages show up on his silhouette. As well as the artwork, the series is famous for its tone of writing, which uses the kind of language from detective pulp fiction. It’s fun to read, and the images and text work really well together. I also like Frank Miller’s extensive use of onomatopoeia throughout the comic, with sound effect words like BLAM, BLAM, PUNT, SPAK, and POOM-POOM being incorporated into the artwork. My three recommendations for the best "Sin City" yarns are: • "Sin City Volume 1: The Hard Goodbye" by Frank Miller (1992) https://www.bookdepository.com/Sin-City-Hard-Goodbye-v-1-Frank-Miller/9781593072933?a_aid=7531 • "Sin City Volume 2: A Dame to Kill For" by Frank Miller (1993) https://www.bookdepository.com/Frank-Millers-Sin-City-Volume-2-Dame-Kill-for-Frank-Miller/9781593072940?a_aid=7531 • "Sin City Volume 4: That Yellow Bastard" by Frank Miller (1997) https://www.bookdepository.com/Frank-Millers-Sin-City-Volume-4-That-Yellow-Bastard-3rd-Edition-Frank-Miller/9781593072964?a_aid=7531 (If you make any purchases through The Book Depository after clicking those affiliate links, I'll get a small financial kickback.) Twilight Graphic Novel / Comic Boook Details What will the Twilight world come up with next? If you're itching for more from the series, you better keep watching! Hey everyone! You're at Clevver TV and I'm Dana Ward with an announcement of a new Twilight book. Just please don't get overly excited because this isn't exactly what it seems. In a totally different format, a new version of Twilight will be coming out. A graphic novel - also known as a comic book - is on its way. A Korean artist is drawing the sketches with Stephanie Meyer herself reportedly reviewing each and every panel before its officially released. It will be brought to us by Little Brown the same publishing house responsible for the book series. I bet you're wondering what all of the Twilight characters will look like as comics. Hello? I mean, will they be as described in the book or look similar to the actors in the movies? This answer is a bit complicated: BOTH! Apparently, the comic book characters will be a mixture of the book's original descriptions and those played by Kristen Stewart, Edward Pattinson and the rest of the crew. We want to know if you guys are going to run out and buy this comic asap OR if you're boycotting the Twilight reincarnation. Let us know by leaving your opinion. For all of the latest Twilight news and gossip, you can always get it right here at Clevver TV. I'm Dana Ward reminding you to subscribe here and to rate us 5-stars. Thanks for watching!

Watchmen was one of the most influential comics series in history. Yet it took several decades for Alan Moore’s dark story about a team of masked heroes to make it from page to screen. Zack Snyder’s 2009 adaptation was pretty faithful to the source, but there were some key differences - and we’ll give you a tour of them all! Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm Even with the green light, it took several years for Watchmen to leap onto the big screen. 21st century CGI made it possible to bring Alan Moor’s story, and Dave Gibbons’ artwork to life. Along the way, some key changes were made to the story. We’ll examine the how, why, and what of all these changes as we tell you: What’s the Difference? Have you read the Watchmen Graphic novel? Have you seen the Zack Snyder movie recently? What did you think of the changes that were made? What do you think of Snyder’s take on other comics properties, like 300 and Man of Steel? Jonathan Coulton's new album is called Solid State, and it's out April 28. The album has a companion graphic novel written by Matt Fraction and drawn by Albert Monteys. It's a science fiction story about the internet, the future, artificial intelligence, and how probably only love will save us. I just got copies of the books and I am drooling all over them. If you are very fast and very patient, you can read the entire thing by watching this video, and constantly pausing and unpausing. Good luck! The book, CD, Vinyl, Tshirts, and deluxe bundles of fantastic things can be pre-ordered right now at http://solidstate.jonathancoulton.com/ Digital pre-orders available at iTunes and wherever else digital music is sold these days.
